Bath Panthers COACHING SESSIONS
At Bath Panthers we offer two levels of coaching
OPEN Coaching classes are for all abilities (School years 4-11) and take place on Wednesday & Thursday evenings at Beechen Cliff School, Bath. The Wednesday & Thursday evening session will repeat the same weekly topic from our unique coaching syllabus.
NBL Team Coaching is for players in the Bath Panthers National Basketball League Teams - these session are at Prior Park College, Bath, on Tuesday & Friday evenings.
- Tuesday Evening Coaching will be 'game based' learning
- Friday Evening Coaching will be more focused on Technical/Tactical player development
NATIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE - Bath Panthers has teams in age groups U13/U14 & U15/U16 playing in the NBL in season 2025/26.

Background
Bath Panthers basketball club was established in 2018 and was an immediate success, with classes across all age groups being in high demand.
Bath Panthers provides a Fun, Supportive & Stimulating learning environment in which players can achieve their best!

All coaching sessions (Squad & Advanced) are led by highly experienced basketball coaches.
Unique Syllabus
Our Lead coaches follow the unique Bath Panthers coaching syllabus which develops both the technical and tactical skills for players across all ages and abilities, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
Intra-Club Monthly Tournament
On the first week of very month the coaching syllabus makes way for the highly popular Panthers Intra-Club Tournament, when players are split into teams and play a series of tournament style matches.
Our Intra -Club Tournaments are a great opportunity for players to put into practice the skills and tactics they have been taught at coaching sessions during the previous month, as well as preparing them for competitive matches with Bath Panthers against other basketball clubs.
Player Development Pathway
We offer a clear and progressive development pathway for our players. The pathway involves progressive stages of development:
- OPEN coaching
- NBL TEAM coaching
OPEN Level
This is our first stage of development and is open to players of all abilities. Coaching sessions follow the Panthers SQUAD syllabus which focuses on developing the technical and tactical foundations of basketball.
NBL TEAM COACHING
These sessions are reserved for player in the Bath Panthers Teams competing in the National Basketball League (NBL). Players attending the OPEN sessions are constantly being assessed by our experienced coaches to identify their suitability to join a Bath Panthers Team.
We Play in the NATIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE
In season 2025/26 Bath Panthers has UJ13/U14 and U15/U16 teams playing in the NBL.

(Parking on the school site although it can become busy some evenings. After entering the school follow signs for sports hall)
Prior Park College (Bury Sports Centre), Ralph Allen Drive, Bath, BA2 5AH
Sports Centre is located close to the exit to the college, it is a one way system in the college. Use the parking area adjacent to the woods, just before you reach the tennis courts. Sports Centre is a 3 minute walk beyond the tennis courts and cricket pitches. If you're dropping off/picking up this can be done outside the sports centre, however, there is no parking permitted in this area.
Important: Travel within the Prior Park College site must be limited and under no circumstances should visitors explore the site beyond the facility they are attending. This is significant safeguarding risk for the college, particularly the boarding community, for which Prior Park is their home.
ARRIVE PUNCTUALLY
Please aim to arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to your session starting. Wait outside the sports hall if there is still a session being coached.
BRING YOUR OWN BASKETBALL
Whilst we provide basketballs in all sizes (5, 6, 7) we encourage players to bring their own ball along to coaching sessions.
BRING A DRINK
There is a water fountain at both of our coaching venues for topping up.

When are matches played?
Matches are mainly Sundays, with the odd Saturday fixture
How will I receive invites to play in a match?
All match details will be communicated to Bath Panthers players on the Spond App. Parents/Players will need to download the App at teh start of the season.
How do I buy a Bath Panthers team kit?
Players in the NBL will be provided a team vest and shorts on match day, which should be returned to your team manager at the end of each match.
What is the cost to join a Bath Panthers Team?
We a have kept this seasons Player Fee the same as the previous season
